Tribute to Emiliano Sala at the Allianz Riviera before the match between Nice and Lille

Four days after the insulting songs of some Nice supporters on Emiliano Sala, who died in January 2019 in a plane crash, the Allianz Riviera paid tribute to the Argentine footballer this Saturday. About 15,000 white T-shirts bearing the image of the former Nantes player were distributed in the stands of the enclosure before the meeting between Nice and Lille. OGCN players also wore this T-shirt when warming up.

This tribute follows the insulting songs from some ultras from Nice at the start of the meeting between the Gym and Saint-Etienne on Wednesday: “He’s an Argentinian, who doesn’t swim very well, Emiliano underwater, Emiliano underwater. » Songs that had provoked the ire of Christophe Galtier, the OGCN coach: “We sometimes say that what we see in the stadium is a reflection of society: if that’s our society, we’re really screwed! (…) I have no words. Let them stay at home. Let them stay at home! You can’t hear that in a stadium. If it’s to insult the dead, let them stay at home! If it’s to swing bottles, let them stay at home! We will win without these people. »
