First woman to referee a Moroccan Cup final

Appointed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) to referee the final of the Throne Cup between AS FAR and Moghreb Athletic de Tetouan, Bouchra Karboubi is making history.

Indeed, the 34-year-old Moroccan referee becomes the first woman in the Arab world to lead a men’s competition final in the Arab world.

A police officer by profession, Bouchra Karboubi has been an international referee since 2016 and was the first Moroccan woman to referee a match in the men’s first division.

As recently as last February, she was in Cameroon where she took part in the CAN 2021 final as a video referee assistant.
