Lewis Hamilton has revealed how he feels about having gone from regularly winning races to battling further back in the peloton this year.
The seven-time world champion currently sits 6th in the drivers standings, with Mercedes continuing to struggle with their W13. Hamilton’s best finish was third in Bahrain, but since then his results have varied.
His worst result was a 13th place at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, while the Briton finished 6th in Miami, behind teammate George Russell.
“It’s still racing, there’s just a different perspective, a different point of view,” explains Lewis Hamilton.
“You always want to try to move forward, but I will say it’s quite difficult when you’re not really moving forward. It is what it is, but it’s an experience for sure.”
“I haven’t always had single-seaters capable of winning the title, between 2009 and 2013 it wasn’t always easy. But I admit that it’s been a long time since I had to fight so far. sharpens old senses in me and I enjoy fighting.”
“It will certainly be useful to me later with these F1 because, I am convinced, we will go up sooner or later to the 1st places.”
